And Chris Cornell has gone now...
This is the worst musical death of recent times for me.

My formative years were spent listening to Soundgarden and Temple of the Dog, and I still listen to Superunknown pretty regularly.

In fact, I'm going to listen to it again on the way to indoor cricket right now.

Have already read a couple of articles which allude to things not being quite right at that last gig.

He stumbled a couple of times and seemed distracted, and not mentally present etc.

Of course, it's hard to know whether the same reporting would have happened if he hadn't killed himself a few hours later.

He played a concert on Wednesay nght n Detrot.

You can't help but wonder how that went and if anyone in the audience can look back and say "I thought something was wrong."

Trouble is, with suicides, it's not neccessarly evident at all. He may well have seen over the moon to be playng live again. Full of beans, and then........

As his fellow Seattle rocker would have said, ah well, whatever, nevermind.

Re: And Chris Cornell has gone now...
Very sad that a 52 yo with a wife & 3 kids that most people would think has a great life as a musician would get to a point where he would hang himself.
Goes to show you never quite know what is going on in some people's lives behind the facade
RIP

It's nice to see you post about something that isn't cricket, rugby or me, LOLmas.

Still not West Ham, but then you don't support West Ham so that'd be a lot to ask for.

Please don't ruin yet another thread Johnson.

Haven't you got enough on your plate with the other various arguments you've got in play right now?

No point losing yet another one to me.

Re: And Chris Cornell has gone now...
If I could just address a couple of things...

Firstly, Soundgarden vs Pearl Jam vs Nirvana is a stupid comparison because none of them are even remotely alike, apart from they play guitars, drums, bass and sing.

And secondly

I'm not talking about the Indoor Cricket played in England, where you play outdoor cricket in a school hall. That's a shit, shit, shit version.

This is proper indoor cricket. Think it's called Action Indoor Cricket there. Check it out. Probably a little bit fast for you though.

Re: And Chris Cornell has gone now...
You know my name is a criminally underrated bond theme

The guy was an outstanding musician. It's a terrible shame and a great sadness for anyone to die in this way, and anyone who can't appreciate that is either very foolish or fortunate enough to have never experienced or known someone who experienced any form of mental illness

Re: And Chris Cornell has gone now...
Just read that the cause of death was suicide by hanging. I dont normally care much about the average famous person death, but to me chris cornell was far from average, this is very very sad news.

Re: And Chris Cornell has gone now...
Eddie vedder walking into shot and singing for the first time on hunger strike video with temple of the dog is a defining moment of music from that era. Him and Cornell sharing vocals on that track made for an all time classic that in the U.K. Is rarely ever played
